TRADITION CONTINUES
The ultimate test of ones skill in the martial arts world is to step into the ring and fight. A tradition set by Royce Gracie back in 1993, when he challenged himself and the art of Jiu-Jitsu to ultimate test by stepping into the octagon of the first UFC, to prove the effectiveness of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu as a martial art. Today his students continue this tradition by testing themselves and once again proving the effectiveness of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. On February 17, 2007 two of our students  Jim Carey and Adam Jetton stepped into the octagon at the Ruckus in the Cage in Virginia to test their skills. Both came out victorious

Adam, who was making his MMA début, went the distance in a touch and technical match earning unanimous decision, while Jim Carey made easy work of his opponent winning with rear naked choke in just 41 seconds of the very first round. Congratulations to Jim and Adam for their victory and everyone at Team ROC Charlotte.
